About
Flat Mates are a London vocal quartet blending the precision of barbershop harmony with swing and jazz flavours.
Their repertoire moves from Ella Fitzgerald and Hoagy Carmichael to Edith Piaf and Gene Kelly, taking in vocal jazz, swing, musical theatre and Latin music along the way. At the heart of it are four voices singing tight harmonies that leave any audience tapping their toes and asking “How do they do that?”
Ali, Anni, Conrad and Kate came together in late 2024 after years spent singing across London’s barbershop, jazz and classical scenes. Less than a year later, Flat Mates won gold at Holland Harmony’s international barbershop competition in the Netherlands and silver at the 2025 UK mixed quartet championship.
Since then, they’ve performed across London and collaborated with YouTubers like Max Fosh while continuing to develop a sound that evokes the great close-harmony groups of the past.
